Saturday
I love saturday's I get to be home and tend to my precious. She is getting better at walking nice with me. I found a way to shorten her leash where it has a little play but not too much. When precious starts tugging I stop and she feels it immediately and she stops eventually. We missed graduation last week due to a company picnic we had to attend. Precious didn't seem to mind, she was happy to see us when we came home. She is very funny, at least I think she is. She loves to take her comfy bed out of her cage into the coral. Sometimes she'll pull it over to where we use to keep her wee wee pad and uses it as one. We had to discontinue use of the pad because she was using it and then tearing it up which was harder to clean up. We're working on correcting this and as everything else I know this will take time. I can't wait till then... lol.

Lazy Sunday
Our precious is going on 5 full months now! She is almost double the size she was when we brought her home. The last vet's visit she weighed about 14 pounds. She is so full of energy every time we go out for a walk she PULLS very hard. Last week she pulled so hard on her leash my hands felt sore for a full week. Now when I try to open bottles I feel like I have arthritis. LOL... Next week is graduation from her 8 week puppy training class. We have a lot of practicing to do. We have to walk nice on the left side with the leash without pulling or tugging. She is a master at sitting on command and she has the idea of laying down. Leave it and drop it are a work in progress. We're gonna have a very busy week this week with commands. I know she can do it.

Escape
We had a big scare yesterday. Precious was able to break free from her leash with all her tugging and pulling on her harness. She ran and ran and ran. We didn't dare chase after her so she wouldn 't keep running and when we called to her she wasn't paying attention to us. Luckily there was someone else around and she loves strangers she always wants to investigate who they are. So we asked them to call her. Sure enough, she came running and let them pet her. I'm just glad nothing happened to her. I'm still trying to teach her not to pull on her leash. I can't wait till she grows out of it.

Walking

Today we worked on walking nice and not pulling on the leash. We took the whole trip that we normally take for walks and I believe we only walked nice for about 5 feet. My hands hurt, every time that precious pulled on the leash I stopped. She was doing well stopping and sitting when I told her to do so. I love the look that she gives me with her eyes when she looks up saying "is it time to go"? Most of the time she is so caught up in finding where that smell in the air is coming from. This was just one morning walk we'll see how she does on the rest of her walks today.

Short attention span !!!

I love precious she is at present my favorite being to date. She follows commands, not all the time, but more so than my ten year old. She'll bark back at me but at least I can't understand what she is saying to me. My little beagle also gives me lots of kisses when she is in the mood!!! I say this because when she starts to nibble she doesn't want to stop! LOL... Today we were taking pictures and she will hold a pose for a couple of seconds and if that shutter is too late there goes a cute pose. Also, my camera has a red light that goes on right before it shoots and it makes this electrical winding up sound so as soon as the button is pressed precious moves from the cute pose she was in to investigate what that funny red light is that pops up on the camera, or maybe she just wants to nibble on it and see what it really is! Here are the photos I could take of her... Isn't she precious?... I tried to get her to pose against a backdrop and then gave up because it wasn't big enough. Precious had fun unwinding herself from it after mommy
tossed it over her head. I swear she was looking straight at the camera for this one and then something else caught her attention. Does anyone have any recommendations for picture taking? Would love to hear your suggestions
Hello thank you for visiting with us today! Here you'll find different topics ALL about BEAGLES, all of the time. During your visit with us you will meet Precious born 5/19/2008. She is beautiful, we hope that we can help you by going over things that we have learned in training and through our mistakes and great successes!
We're going on 5 months now my biggest dilemma is whether I should have her spayed or let her have puppies. I wanted to show her and for the shows they have to have all their parts. I never knew that shows where where dogs are shown to find possible breeding partners! I've gotten two estimates to spay it costs anywhere from 75 to 399 dollars. If precious has puppies the costs begin at 6 weeks and then every three weeks thereafter. The first visit is about 117 dollars each pup. Now how many pups can a 13 inch beagle have???
